The first named storm of the season to approach this area has been dubbed Dianmu, which, appropriately, is a goddess of lightning and thunder in Chinese mythology. According to Weather Underground and the Korean Meteorological Administration, the storm will hit our area around Wednesday evening or Thursday morning, with Yeosu right in the middle of the predicted path. At the moment, Dianmu is not supposed to reach typhoon strength, but these things can be wildly unpredictable. If nothing else, we’ll probably get a lot of rain. The Pacific Storm Tracker blog on “Stars and Stripes” has recurring updates. I’ll have more as the storm draws closer.
